Wood destroying organisms, such as termites and other wood-damaging pests, can compromise structural components over time, often without immediate visibility. A Wood Destroying Organisms (WDO) Inspection is performed to identify visible evidence of activity and conditions that may contribute to infestation.
This inspection consists of a non-invasive visual assessment of accessible areas of the property, focusing on components commonly affected by wood destroying organisms, including:
- Structural Wood Members & Framing
- Attic & Crawl Space Areas (When Accessible)
- Exterior Wood Components & Trim
- Areas with Elevated Moisture or Prior Water Intrusion
- Conditions Conducive to Infestation
The inspection is limited to identifying visible signs such as damage, staining, shelter tubes, or other indicators of potential activity. The presence or absence of wood destroying organisms cannot be fully determined without invasive methods or specialized testing.
Findings are documented in a structured report outlining observed conditions, areas of concern, and recommendations for further evaluation when appropriate.
This service does not include treatment, remediation, or pest control services. Any identified or suspected activity should be further evaluated and addressed by a licensed pest control professional.
**Wood destroying organism inspections, when required for official reporting or certification, may be performed by a licensed third-party pest control provider. Beyond Property Inspections may coordinate this service for client convenience; however, all findings, reports, and certifications are issued solely by the third-party provider.
